Beyond Sanctuary review
Beyond Sanctuary by Janet and Chris Morris is a fantastic
tale of magic, gods and warriors that takes place in a mystical world where all
three exist side by side. The gods don’t sit down and drink with the men, but
they are called upon and sworn allegiance to. When called upon they do answer in exchange
for allegiances.
The story centers on Tempus Thales, the leader of the
warriors who are called the ‘sacred band of stepsons’, his sister Cime, and
Niko, who is basically his right hand man.
The one warning I will give about this book is that it is
not for the young or young adult crowd. It is an adults’ story set in a world of
mystical sex and many perversions. So it’s not for the faint of heart. If you
can look past that stuff, as I do, it becomes a great and fantastic adventure.
This is one of the most well written books I have ever read.
While at times there may seem to be too much written where something much
simpler would have sufficed, the final product is worth reading as the story
takes on a very impressive and magical life of its own.
Well worth reading, part one of a trilogy. Five very impressive stars.
